Now the Xbox One Kinect has been made to work with the PC, and Microsoft is hoping for a non-gaming audience to latch on to the device, which is being sold for more than some expected. The games made to work for it still weren't so impressive, and aside from Kinect Sports Rivals and Fighter Within, almost nobody uses it for anything more than controlling the console itself between games. It was an amazing peripheral, but Microsoft didn't give us a choice over whether we wanted it. Microsoft worked on it and eventually created the Kinect 2, with improved tech specs, and released it with the Xbox One. The older version didn't work so well, expecting us to be the right distance away for it to operate effectively. When the Xbox One was first revealed, one of the aspects that seemed most promising was a follow-up to the Xbox 360 device which tracked body movement. While the device on the Xbone has been used primarily for games and its controller-free user interface, the version Microsoft is releasing for Windows users will apparently be used more for various apps. The Xbox One Kinect for PC is almost here, though it's technically not the same thing.
